The Seventh NERIS General Assembly took place on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 2.00 to 5.00 pm at the occasion of the PREPARE Dissemination Workshop at Park Inn Danube Hotel. 

During this Assembly, it was reviewed the on-going activities of the NERIS Platform with the adoption of the Annual Report and the election of the new members of the Managemnt Board was organised. Information on the OPERRA and CONCERT Project were given and we discussed the perspectives of the Platform notably through the possible cooperation. In addition a new Working Group on Information and Communication was created with a double main goal, of elaborating and helping to disseminate and implement the recommendations coming from the PREPARE Project (WP6 and WP3), and to further disseminated and activated the use of the newly developed « Analytical Platform » of PREPARE WP2.

NERIS has signed on October 5, 2015 a collaborative research arrangement with ISPRA in order to identify and develop new approaches in the areas of Nuclear/Radiological Emergency Preparedness Response and Recovery, thus working to the mutual benefit of both organisations in the achievement of their objectives.

For the first time, the RPW2016 will bring together complementary strands of radiation protection research, with the established European platforms MELODI, EURADOS, NERIS and ALLIANCE as co-organisers, along with other relevant areas.

The European Joint Programme for the Integration of Radiation Protection Research (acronym: CONCERT) has launched a first transnational Call for Proposals to support innovative research projects in radiation protection.

 Project proposals will address multidisciplinary and transnational research. The project proposals must cover one of the following areas that are equal in relevance for this call:

• Improvement of health risk assessment associated with low dose/dose rate radiation.
• Reducing uncertainties in human and ecosystem radiological risk assessment and management in nuclear emergencies and existing exposure situations, including NORM.

Submission deadline

Electronic proposal submission deadline is on 02^nd August 2016 at 17:00 CET (Brussels local time).
