Participation to the testing and exercise activities is open for the RODOS users. Expression of interest has to be sent to Tatiana Duranova and Wolfgang Raskob for pre-registration and further instructions and information. The new users of the RODOS system are also welcomed and have first to contact KIT for signature of an agreement on the RODOS use with KIT. Further information on the exercise specification will be published at the end of May 2013.

NERIS-TP Technical Exercises

The complex set of technical exercises will be prepared and organized between November 11^th and 13^th 2013 in the frame of NERIS-TP Project of the Euratom FP7 (GA 269718) partly funded by the European Commission. The exercises are organised by VUJE – the Slovak institute for nuclear power plants applied research and operational support in cooperation with contractors of the NERIS-TP Project. The objectives of the exercises are to use the new products and to give the feedback to developers on the user’s experience. The exercises will focus on:

• Coupling of an Unified System for Information Exchange in Incidents and Emergencies (USIE, IAEA) with a DSS JRODOS and world-wide applicability of JRODOS,
• Assessment of doses based on freely available meteorological data,
• Adaptation of existing simulation models of DSS JRodos that they can treat the new ICRP 103 recommendations,
• Simulation capabilities of the ERMIN – assistance in developing appropriate strategies for urban areas,  the assessment of doses from urban areas for the longer term
• Simulation capabilities of the foodchain module AgriCP – assistance in developing appropriate countermeasure strategies for agriculturally used areas,
• Defining for given release scenarios the potential consequences in terms of necessary countermeasure strategies – use of JRODOS as scenario preparation tool for exercises.

The exercises will provide platform for further enhancement of preparedness and stakeholders involvement and will be useful for preparation and conduction of the facilitated workshops, table-top exercises, testing and adaptation of tools.

The NERIS-TP Training Course will provide opportunity to train the participants (trainees) to use the new tools for the purpose of further active participation in technical exercises and use of the end products in the community.

NERIS-TP Testing of Products

The testing of new products developed and integrated within the JRODOS Decision Support System (DSS) in the frame of NERIS-TP Project of the Euratom FP7 (GA 269718) partly funded by the European Commission will be offered to the JRODOS users. The guidance description for the tests of new products will be developed by “Horia Holubei” National Institute of R&D for Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH), Romania. The testing will be organized between May and November 2013 in the framework of the European NERIS Platform and RODOS Users Group (RUG) on end-user technical equipment. The objectives of the testing are to test the new products and to give the feedback to developers on the user’s experience. Testing will focus on new simulation models and expanded simulation models of JRODOS DSS to threat ICRP 103 recommendations and on exchange of information between an emergency information system and European DSS and for dynamic adaptation of the WRF data.
