European Platform on preparedness for nuclear and radiological emergency response and recovery
The mission of the NERIS Platform is to establish a forum for dialogue and methodological development between all European organisations and associations taking part in decision making of protective actions in nuclear and radiological emergencies and recovery in Europe.
As you already know, next issue of the NERIS Workshop will take place on Monday 9th October 2023 as a satellite Workshop of next ERPW in Dublin, Ireland.
The thematic of the Workshop are the following:
Radiological impact assessment including data, models and techniques
Protective actions, decision support and disaster informatics
Holistic and inclusive framework for preparedness for emergency response and recovery.
New challenges for emergency preparedness, response and recovery

The 9th international conference on Social Sciences and Humanities in Ionising Radiation Research (RICOMET2023) will take place in Dessel, Belgium on 30 August – 1 September 2023.
The conference will host presentations on Social Sciences and Humanities in the field of:
Decommissioning
Nuclear energy futures
Radon and NORM
Medical applications
Opportunities and needs in radiation protection
There is also an "Open topics" field for any abstracts dealing with societal aspects in various applications of ionising radiation.

The NERIS Workshop 2022 was held as a satellite workshop of ERPW for half a day on Monday 10th October 2022 morning (9:00 - 13:00). It gathered around 70 people from the community and from ERPW attendance.
The Workshop was split in two sessions: “Uncertainty quantification, data assimilation, monitoring strategies, and inverse modelling” and “Lessons learned and optimization of management strategies”.
13 speakers presented their work linked with these thematic, and time for discussions will be used to reflect on these advancements and their use for the NERIS research agenda and the broader Joint research agenda.
